Shirt – For Formal occasions white or neatly striped featuring collar and double cuffs. A brighter stripe may be substitued for weddings and less formal occasions. Standard collar is usual but wing is appropriate when worn with a cravat.
Tie - Grey silk check or stripe. Club and regimental ties are worn if they co-ordinate with the outfit. Wear a cravat of similar colour if your shirt has a wing collar. Bow ties are not worn with morning wear.
Waistcoat - A Grey waistcoat is always acceptable but fancy silk is more usual these days. Other coloured and patterned waistcoats are even more popular and acceptable.
Socks – Black silk or fine cotton are recommended.
Shoes - Black only. Preferably lace-up.
Handkerchief – Worn in breast pocket to co-ordinate with tie. The amount shown is up to the individual.
Gloves - In Black or Grey kid or cotton to match the waistcoat.
Hat – Top hat only. Colour matches waistcoat or tailcoat.
